Hello and good day to you all!

It is time for a challenge and since Halloween is just around the corner, I am challenging you to write in the theme of FEAR.

:skull:

I am giving you until 10/31 to write a poem about fear. I know this is not much time, but I think we can still come up with some great stuff. Think about your fears and write what immediately comes to mind. As a fan of poetry shorter in length, I challenge you to write something short- but make sure it packs a punch!

To enter, post your poem in the comments of this blog and on November first I will pick and winner who will receive 100 points, and a feature in our group, :icondeviantsgallery: and as one in :iconprettyflour:'s personal journal.

Come on, do it. Give me your fears!

The caulking cracks like paper planes

In a headwind made by fire's sprint

Presented eyes as flashing gouts

Against the grey of rotten skull

Gating denizen cruelly flourish

Paired spectral rays of spearing sears

Have alignment on my back

Between hysteric floating cages

My feet in forest caught the blaze

God fearing can my senses whiff

The sweet gangling dreamcatcher

Come to whisk my soul

Cinder blocks have melted black

All walls obstruct be feathers felled

The tide growing like a sword

Pierce deeper my septum's beat

Have ivory keys that play off scale

From angles ignored surmount my loss

Recollection come late in pleas

Of pressing screams that echo long

Branch strike gashes on my cheek

Forearm bleeding from the frame

Embedded all that remains

Of precept protection duly slashed

Looking glass instead see red

Of moving tears coated and sick

My ocean dammed has creeks in folds

A hundred stones add up what was

White flash green in swirling skits

The mythic secret I must face

My bedtime fears scattered afar

Now that one chars my raised hairs

I feel heckling spirit's calm

The patient everliving fact

My pious freedom taken shape

To break the pillar I thought was high

Reaching binds soundly clasp

The air siphoned as I breathe

It seals my essence from the world

To better savour what I am

Doors leave parts into my flesh

Trenches slicked my breast and flanks

Have femur fractured now or fore

Mix scarlet to the mud and brick

The creature grinds my hourglass

Its molars make sand spectacles

Like thorny crown my faith made truth

Will dig a lash into its claim

It follows me into the night

A flightless hare followed by fang

With Phoenix feathers brightly lit

Resurrected from my ash
